With support from the Coca-Cola Company, the NFF is working closely with local partners to restore part of the North Branch of the White River on Michigan’s Huron-Manistee National Forest. This project replaced outdated culverts with a bridge to improve passage of aquatic organisms. Shortly after the completion of the project this fall, locals have already spotted mink (thought to be locally extinct) and have reported the strongest autumn run of migratory fish in decades.

As part of our recently established partnership with the Coca-Cola Company, we are restoring four impaired National Forest watersheds across the country. On New Mexico's Carson National Forest, we're working to restore the damage that was caused by a legacy of mining activities in the high mountain headwaters of Placer Creek.

Through several different stream channel restoration strategies, we're returning a narrow, incised stream channel to a meandering stream that creates valuable wetland habitat in the arid mountains of New Mexico.
