Susan Bell recently joined Huna Totem Corporation as Vice President of Strategic Initiatives. The Alaska Native Corporation owns and operates Icy Strait Point, Alaska's first private cruise ship destination, and is creating new ports and attractions in other locations.
A lifelong Alaskan, Susan is dedicated to promoting Alaska and building strong communities and businesses. She recently helped the University of Alaska develop an Arctic Leadership Initiative. As Commissioner of the Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development, she helped increase visibility and investment in Alaska's tourism, seafood, and energy sectors. As an owner and project manager of consulting firm McDowell Group, Susan helped clients in all market sectors grow, address change, and improve their competitive position.
Susan deeply appreciates Alaska's rich cultural heritage and outdoor recreation. She serves on the Juneau Symphony board and enjoys boating and hiking with her husband and Labrador Retrievers.
