"I'm passionate about the work of the National Forest Foundation because maintaining the well-being of our forests is the least we as humans can do for all those who came before us, and for those who have yet to be born."

BIO

Rebecca Kasilag joined the National Forest Foundation in 2021 as the Individual Giving Officer. She has over 20 years of experience building relationships in the music industry, including 13 years handling all aspects of non-profit development and communications at The ASCAP Foundation, a New York City-based music charity. Rebecca grew up in a rural New England town where she enjoyed exploring nature around her home and in New Hampshire’s White Mountain National Forest during family trips. She got her first job as a junior camp counselor at Parker Woodland Wildlife Refuge in Rhode Island before being hired as a photographer for the Connecticut Museum of Natural History. After graduating from the University of Connecticut, Rebecca moved to New York to start a record promotions business retained by major music labels including Sony and Epic Records. When not promoting records, she worked as an Organic Gardening Instructor at the New York Botanical Garden and as a Sierra Club volunteer. As a Sierra Club Executive Committee member of the New York Chapter, she created a composting program at a local elementary school, threw a fundraising event in Manhattan and served on the National Gift Acceptance Committee among many other activities. Rebecca earned a bachelor's degree in Marketing Communications from the University of Connecticut and a CNPF from New York University. When she is not working or volunteering in her community, Rebecca enjoys gardening, cooking, traveling, photography, and spending time with family.
