BIO

Nick Olson joined NFF in 2023 with over 15 years of natural resource management and land stewardship experience. As the Southwest Colorado Project Coordinator, Nick oversees a scope of work to enhance forest health, support sustainable recreation, and represent NFF with the Wood for Life partnership on the San Juan National Forest and adjacent landscapes.

Prior to joining NFF, Nick managed Southwest Conservation Corps Forest Health Program, Yale University’s School Forests network, and a start-up enterprise in the Upper Amazon Basin assisting indigenous communities to build supply chains for non-timber forest products.

Nick has a Master of Forestry from Yale University and a B.S. in Economics from Birmingham-Southern College. When not at work, Nick is likely still found on the San Juan National Forest with his family or volunteering with La Plata County Search and Rescue.
