BIO

Megan Mustoe joined the NFF in January 2024. She serves as a Rocky Mountain Region Program Manager based in Dolores, Colorado. She has over 10 years of experience working within western landscapes to create spaces of belonging, innovation, and pragmatic conservation solutions.

Prior to joining NFF, Megan was forestry counsel for The Conservation Fund. While in Utah and Arizona, she facilitated collaborations, practiced law, co-founded the Utah chapter of the National Wildlife Federation, and participated in grassroot, county, and regional economic development projects. At the beginning of her career, she spent a few years as a registered forester in southeastern Arkansas and time on a Rocky Mountain Youth Corps conservation crew. Megan began her love of the outdoors, civic involvement, and grew her entrepreneurism through Girl Scouts.

Megan earned her certificate in Economic Development from Utah Valley University, her Juris Doctor from the University of Utah S. J. Quinney College of Law, and her Bachelor of Science in Forestry from the University of Missouri – Columbia. She grew up in the Ozarks and spent many weekends and summers playing in the enigmatic Mark Twain and Ouachita National Forests and scenic waterways. She is currently exploring the San Juan National Forest and Colorado Plateau.
