BIO

Katlyn Lonergan joined the National Forest Foundation in 2022 as the Eastern Sierra & Great Basin Program Coordinator, growing and implementing restoration and recreation programs across Nevada and California. Katlyn has over 6 years of experience working on natural resource issues across agencies and jurisdictions. Before joining NFF, Katlyn worked at the Lassen Fire Safe Council similarly implementing landscape scale fuels reduction projects on public and private lands. In her role, Katlyn built partnerships to reduce the risk of wildfire within the Wildland Urban Interface and created a Reforestation Program in response to the record-breaking 2020 and 2021 fire seasons in California.

Before LFSC, Katlyn worked for EMPSi and the City and County of Denver gaining experience in federal and local level planning, natural resource management, environmental regulations, and collaboration with diverse key stakeholders toward innovative solutions. Katlyn has a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Missouri University of Science & Technology, and a Masters in Land Use Planning & Community Engagement from the University of Colorado-Boulder.
