BIO

Josh joined the NFF in January 2023 as the Intermountain Program manager. His work focuses on NFF projects throughout southern Idaho, Utah, Nevada, and western Wyoming. He has over 20 years of experience in natural resources work throughout the western US. Prior to joining the NFF Josh spent 13 years in environmental consulting, where he worked on environmental baseline studies and environmental impact statement projects throughout Idaho and beyond. During college, he spent summers traveling the west on engine, helitack and Hotshot fire crews for the U.S. Forest Service. He brings experience with complex natural resources projects, knowledge of forestry and forest ecology, and a passion for the woods of the west.

Josh holds a Bachelor of Science in Forest Resources Management and a Master of Science, both from the University of Montana. His graduate work focused on fire ecology, and the arrangement of post fire landscapes.

When not at work, Josh can be found enjoying public lands by raft, foot, ski, or bike with his adventurous wife and two sons.
