BIO

John joined the National Forest Foundation in October 2022. His work is centered on invasive species management, trail restoration, ecological restoration and forest health projects in the Coronado National Forest of Southern Arizona. Since 2017, John has dedicated himself to conservation-related issues throughout the Sonoran Desert and Sky Islands Region.

Prior to working for the NFF, John worked with Saguaro National Park as a invasive species intern, completed post-fire plant surveys for the U.S. Forest Service, monitored watershed health in the Angeles National Forest, and collected floristic and climatic data for the National Ecological Observatory Network (NEON) in the Santa Rita Mountains, AZ and the Jornada Plain, NM. John also served the State of Arizona, as an Arizona State Parks Ranger, managing the volunteer program at Catalina State Park just outside of Tucson.

John holds a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources from Oregon State University. In his free time he loves spending time his with wife and son, exploring the Southwest and writing and performing music
