BIO

Joe Lavorini moved from Colorado’s Pikes Peak Region to the Gunnison Valley to join the NFF in the spring of 2020. Joe has built a career in nonprofit leadership, grassroots advocacy, and environmental campaigns. Joe started his career by launching a grassroots nonprofit where he personally changed more than 10,000 lightbulbs, to save the planet one watt at a time. Joe then spent a decade at the Rocky Mountain Field Institute as the organization’s Program Director where he managed land conservation projects throughout Southern Colorado and Utah.

Joe has an undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado and a Master of Environmental Management degree from Western Colorado University. Joe spends his free time exploring western Colorado and the 2 million acres of public land surrounding the Gunnison Valley.
