BIO

Jeff Malik joined the NFF in 2023 as the Oregon Recreation Projects Coordinator. He manages outdoor recreation projects on the Mt. Hood and Willamette National Forests. Most of his work involves reconstruction of trails and campgrounds after wildfires, or building more accessible recreation infrastructure. Jeff is based in Eugene, Oregon, and has previously worked in rural tourism development, higher education, and on urban stormwater management projects.

Jeff grew up in the Appalachian Mountains of East Tennessee. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Geography at the University of Tennessee, and later attended the University of Dayton for his Master’s in Public Administration. Outside of work, Jeff enjoys hiking, biking, disc golf, cooking, and board games.
