"As someone who grew up near the city, natural landscapes have always been a sanctuary for me. I'm excited to work with NFF to make a meaningful impact on protecting and enhancing our beautiful forest lands to share that experience with others."

He is a devout believer in the importance of environmental stewardship as a means of social progress and is committed to fostering collaborative conservation through a coalition of partners and community stakeholders. Jack will support continued Southern Sierra program development with direct engagement in the Sierra National Forest.

Prior to joining NFF, Jack completed his Master of Arts in Environmental Architecture at London’s Royal College of Art. The program’s research and design curriculum emphasized a transdisciplinary approach to resource stewardship and alternative forms of co-dependence between communities and ecosystems. His thesis project investigated ecological resilience and landscape management strategies in the context of North Evia, Greece and involved extensive collaboration with local Forestry Cooperatives. He also received his Bachelor of Art in Environmental Studies from University of California, Santa Barbara.

Jack has almost 10 years of experience as an environmental professional in both public and private sectors as well as the non-profit space. Most notably, Jack was a tenured environmental consultant that worked on nature-based climate adaptation, habitat restoration, water resources, and land-use planning projects. Jack seeks to actively engage with pressing issues of reforestation and landscape vitality. Outside of NFF, Jack enjoys photography, surfing, and exploring the backcountry with his backpack.
