BIO

Elise joined the National Forest Foundation in July 2023 as the Arizona Program Manager. In this role, she oversees the NFF's conservation, restoration, and engagement projects across Arizona in collaboration with the US Forest Service, local communities, conservation organizations, and private sector partners. Elise is thrilled to lead and collaborate on projects that seek creative solutions to complex issues.

As an Arizona native who has lived and worked throughout the state, Elise has a deep admiration for the diverse landscapes, cultures, and people that comprise Arizona. With over a decade of experience managing projects on public lands statewide, Elise previously worked for the National Park Service as a Biologist and Program Coordinator. During her time there, she served 11 national park units, contributing to natural resource inventory and monitoring research. Notably, she conducted assessments on long-term trends of terrestrial mammal populations across the Sonoran Desert. Apart from her biological research, Elise has extensive involvement in community conservation efforts, including environmental education, citizen science, stakeholder engagement, and partnership coordination.

Elise holds an M.S. in Fish, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology from Colorado State University, as well as a B.S. in Environmental Studies from Northern Arizona University. She is also certified as a Wilderness First Responder, Emergency Medical Technician, Certified Interpretive Guide, and Environmental Educator. In her free time, Elise enjoys hiking with her dogs, woodworking, playing soccer, and spending quality time with friends and family.
