"The time I have spent on National Forests has shaped my understanding of America’s complicated history and fills me with great hope for our collective future. It’s a joy to share stories of the NFF’s work on these incredible lands – stories of connection and partnership, of wildlife and wonder. Stories that remind us of the power of our natural world and the work we must do to care for it."

BIO

Catherine Cody joined the National Forest Foundation (NFF) in April 2024 as the organization’s first media relations hire. Catherine’s focus includes expanding the NFF’s national brand presence by working with journalists, creators, and partners to elevate stories about the NFF’s substantial field work and industry expertise.

Catherine brings over fifteen years of experience leading public relations and communications strategies across media, nonprofit, and business sectors with a focus on community and brand building through narrative storytelling. Prior to joining the NFF, Catherine built and led communications for a global pay equity tech startup.

She has also led PR efforts on the agency and brand side, most notably for Texas Monthly, Dallas Museum of Art, and Tribeca Film Festival. Catherine is thrilled to now use her storytelling and partnerships expertise to support her passion for outdoor exploration and conservation.

Based in Austin, Catherine is an avid hiker and backpacker. When not exploring trails with her dog, Jane, Catherine is on the lookout for any body of water where she can swim and believes you should always pack a swimsuit- just in case.
