BIO

Amanda Knauf joined the NFF in November 2023 as the Wildfire Resilience Program Coordinator. In this role, she works to implement cross boundary fire risk reduction efforts at landscape-scale. She is excited to work across the west to reduce wildfire risk.

Prior to joining the NFF, Amanda worked for a Conservation District in NW Washington heading the wildfire education and outreach program. Additionally, she has worked in the southwest on fire ecology crews and in Hawaiʻi as a researcher studying invasive species and forest restoration. Amanda has a M.S. in Natural Resources and Environmental Management from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa and a B.S. in Forestry from Northern Arizona University. While not working you can find her rock climbing, swimming, and baking treats.
