Angeles Crest Highway Fuels Reduction, Angeles National Forest, California

The purpose of the project is to conduct fuel and vegetation management activities within wildland-urban interface zones and Angeles National Forest lands along the Angeles Crest Highway to facilitate wildfire suppression actions and reinforce defensible locations during wildfire activities. The overall size of this project is estimated at 1,638 acres and spans roughly 20 miles.

The NFF and Forest Service will host an optional site visit on August 5, 2024 at 9:30 am. Please meet at the Chilao Visitor Center (1 Moccasin Trail, Palmdale, CA 93550).
