The Big Jack East project is located in Placer County, California and south of the Town of Truckee. Big Jack East is a collaborative project between the United States Forest Service and the National Forest Foundation that was designed to treat approximately 2,000 acres on National Forest System lands. Action is needed:
- Reduce fuel loadings and the risk of wildfire in the Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) immediately south of Truckee.
- Create conditions that would improve forest resiliency to fire, insects, disease, drought and climate change.
